Stanbic Bank Botswana Takes a Stand against Malaria
In Africa, about 60% of all hospital admissions are malaria related. 1 in 20 children die before the age of 5.
The disease is preventable and curable.
The Rotary Club of Gaborone has made a commitment that they together with partners such as Stanbic Bank, other Rotary clubs and organisations will support the Ministry of Health Programme to try and Eradicate Malaria.
The club in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Charlotte donated LLIN’s to the Ministry of Health in July 2010. This was the catalyst for the present project.
Christopher Gwere of Stanbic Bank presented a cheque for BWP
100 000.00 to President William Lee of the Rotary Club of Gaborone. President
William then presented the Public Relations Officer of Stanbic Bank, Ruth
Modisane with a certificate of appreciation.
